About Us

The Unity J. McGill Foundation was founded in 2020 to honor Unity J. McGill, who tragically lost his life on December 29th, 2019, while assisting a stranger. Unity was a kind and generous person who not only gave material possessions but also gave of himself. He was born in 1990 in Gbarga, Liberia, during the civil war and emigrated to the United States as a refugee with his family in 1997. Despite his untimely death, his dedication to serving others remains an inspiration, and this foundation was established to continue his legacy of helping others and fulfilling his goals.

Liberia is a country that struggles with poverty, unemployment, and a lack of education. As a result, students in Liberia face many challenges and need extra financial assistance to succeed. Fortunately, the cost of college tuition is only $500 per year, so any contribution can make a big difference in their lives. Our recent trip to Liberia showed us how important it is to invest in their future. A yearly donation of $500 can change the lives of students and their families forever. Scholarships are not enough; they also need access to modern books and resources. Our goal is to build a library with cutting-edge technology that will improve their access to information. We need your support to make this long-term vision a reality.
